groupwork audition - The Hope River Girls

Co-production with Imaginate supported by The Tramway Funded through the Scottish Government’s Festivals Expo Fund

groupwork are looking for 2 female-identifying performers to join the company for a spring tour of The Hope River Girls. THe hope River Girls is a reimagined version of the award-winning 2019 show The Afflicted. The show, commissioned by Imaginate and aimed at 10-15 year olds will tour scotland this spring.

As with The afflicted, the hope river girls will be It a highly physical piece so performers must be strong movers. We welcome applications from dancers, but We also ask that performers have experience of delivering text on stage. Performers will be asked to perform in American accents. Playing age is teenage.

We particularly welcome applications from the global majority and neurodiverse performers.

National Theatre of Scotland - Rockvilla, 125 Craighall Road, Glasgow, G4 9TL

Performers will be asked to take part in a group workshop audition which will include movement and the reading of text. This can be provided in advance, upon request.

Contract details

8th April - 15th May 2022

£550 per full week (plus an additional 2 days at £160 p/d) + holiday pay and any touring allowances

Rehearsals will take place in Glasgow, followed by a small tour across Scotland and presentation part of the Edinburgh International Childrens Festival.

Performers must be based or have a base in Scotland. If performers have a drivers license they may be asked to drive when on tour.
